The Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) organised the “Youth Recruitment Day@YETP” on May 14, 2024 (Tuesday) for young people aged 15 to 24 with educational attainment at a sub-degree level or below.

Youth Recruitment Day was held at MacPherson Stadium. A total of 33 companies from various industries including transport, airline services, hotels, theme parks, public services, retail, catering and property management joined the recruitment event, providing over 2 000 full-time and part-time on-the-job training vacancies for young job seekers.

Various service providers set up counters to introduce YETP. They assisted young people in selecting and enrolling in suitable training courses, and provided career consultation along with advice on resume preparation. Many young people enrolled in YETP on-site.

YETP invited guest speakers Hins Cheung, Phil Lam, Yumi Chung and Dark Wong to participate in the event. They shared their stories of pursuing their own career development to encourage young people to pursue their career goals with perseverance and determination.

A panel area was staged to provide information on workplace attachment, on-the-job training of the Labour Department, the e-Learning Support Scheme, and introduction of the Testing, Inspection and Certification Industry by the Qualifications Framework Secretariat, so as to assist young people in planning for their future career. There was also a counter by the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship of Vocational Training Council providing information on the Project for Tradesman Trainees co-organised by YETP and vocational training.

In addition, Youth Recruitment Day also featured career talks, course demonstrations and introductory sessions on special employment projects. Participants could obtain the latest employment information and devise a career plan through the event.
