GBA Work Experience Attachment Programme
Programme Details
What is the GBA Work Experience Attachment Programme (WEP)?
WEP offers workplace attachment in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Mainland cities for young people aged between 18 and 29, with educational attainment at sub-degree level or below, enabling participants to gain experience on the living culture and work environment in the GBA. The programme includes
- 2-day preparatory training;
- 1-month workplace attachment in the GBA;
- weekend activities;
- immediate support services during the course of workplace attachment in the GBA; and
- Mainland career advisory services.
There is no employer and employee relationship between participants and the host organisations. (* with an attendance of 80% or above)
What are the highlights of WEP?
Host Organisations will assign experienced staff member as mentor to assist trainees in understanding daily work and related work knowledge, so as to better adapt to the working environment in the GBA. In addition, mentor will offer guidance in the daily work and provide appropriate advice and counselling when necessary. The service provider, the Hong Kong Employment Development Service (HKEDS), will arrange different types of weekend activities during the workplace attachment in the GBA, allowing trainees to gain a better understanding of living and cultural experience in the GBA.
What are the fees for participating in WEP?
Free of charge.
- Free transportation to and from Hong Kong and the GBA Mainland cities will be provided to participants for reporting duty and the return trip led by the service provider as well as weekend activities. Free accommodation will be provided to participants during the course of the workplace attachment in the GBA.
- No deposit or administrative fees required.

GBA Work Experience Attachment Programme in 2025
Embarking workplace attachment in GBA for a new direction in career planning
Launched in 2025, the GBA Work Experience Attachment Programme (WEP) offered 1-month workplace attachment in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Mainland cities for trainees aged 18 to 29, enabling participants to gain experience on the living culture and work environment in the GBA, and exploring career development opportunities in the GBA.
The Hong Kong Employment Development Service Limited (HKEDS) was appointed to solicit and match attachment vacancies, organise 2-day Preparatory Training, as well as to arrange free accommodation and render support services for participating trainees.
Trainees of WEP participated in the 1-month workplace attachment in the GBA from 14 June to 13 July 2025. The workplaces were located at the GBA cities of Zhongshan and Shunde. A graduation ceremony was held on 12 July to mark the completion of the 1-month workplace attachment in Zhongshan and Shunde. Through WEP, young YETP Trainees were able to gain experience of working in a mainland enterprise, broaden their horizon and gain first-hand experience on the living culture and work environment, as well as career opportunities in the GBA.
Special thanks to 康業物業管理(中山)有限公司 and 廣東順控城投置業有限公司 for offering workplace attachment vacancies and providing guidance and support to WEP Trainees.
