Recruitment Seminar for "Assistant Mechanic Training Programme" (Fully Booked)
YETP of the Labour Department, Thyssenkrupp Elevator (HK) Limited and HKFTU Occupational Retraining Centre are jointly organizing a tailor-made training-cum-employment project, Assistant Mechanic Training Programme, offering 15 vacancies for the post of "Assistant Mechanic". A recruitment day with briefing of company background, industry prospect, details of the training, and on-the-spot interviews will be held on 3 September 2020 (Thursday). Successful applicants are required to attend a pre-employment training course for 10 full days. Trainees are entitled to training allowance during the pre-employment training period. Upon completion of the training course, applicants with good performance will be engaged as employees and undergo on-the-job training with salary for the first 12 months of employment. Retention allowance is payable to applicants if they remain in the on-the-job training for 3 months or more.
Basic Entry Requirements
- Aged 15 – 24
- Lawfully employable in Hong Kong (for non-permanent Hong Kong Identity Card holder, please provide valid documents to prove that you are lawfully employable in Hong Kong)
- Educational attainment of Form 3 to sub-degree level (or equivalent)
- Fluent Cantonese and Fair English
- Able to read and write Chinese and English

- One recent passport-sized photo

Pre-employment Training Course (Free of charge)
Successful applicants are required to attend FREE pre-employment training course provided by HKFTU Occupational Retraining Centre. Trainees are entitled to a training allowance at a rate of $70 per valid training day during the training period.

HKFTU Occupational Retraining Centre (KY)6/F, Sunbeam Commercial Building, 469-471 Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon
- Trainees who have attained an attendance rate of 80% or above in the pre-employment training course are entitled to a training allowance at a rate of $70 per valid training day. The eligible trainees may submit training allowance applications to their respective case manager.
- Trainees should ensure that they are available during the course and notify their case manager before applying this course. To ensure effective use of training resources, upon your successful enrolment for the subject tailor-made training course, referrals for workplace attachment training and on-the-job training will be suspended till completion of the training course. Besides, other pre-employment training courses and workplace attachment training previously enrolled will be cancelled.
- Trainees are eligible for a retention allowance of $3,000 if they are engaged in full-time on-the-job training for 3 months and an additional $1,000 for completion of each subsequent month. For part-time on-the-job training, the respective amounts grantable will be halved. For details of retention allowance application, please visit the YETP website for the latest announcement.

- Trainees who had previously worked for Thyssenkrupp Elevator (HK) Limited under any forms of employment or services are not eligible for joining the training course.
- Trainees under on-the-job training employment may wish to apply for transport allowance from the Work Incentive Transport Subsidy Scheme. Please visit iwits.gov.hk for details.
- If the Black Rainstorm Signal or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above is still in force by 11 a.m. on that day, the event will be cancelled.
