This year, the Labour Department worked in collaboration with Radio 2 of Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) again in organising the Award Ceremony of Most Improved Trainees of Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in the evening of 27 August 2013. The theme of the event was "Dream Journey". We aimed at disseminating the message that youths should act after mapping out their dreams, as a continuation of the theme used last year.

Dovetailing with this theme are the essential elements born by the 10 awardees. These elements are: Disciplined, Resolute, Efficient, Adaptable, Motivated, Discreet, Responsible, Enthusiastic, Analytical and Meticulous, which contributed to achievement of "DREAM".

Mr. Matthew Cheung, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, is well-known by his care and concern about youth employment. Before the commencement of the Award Ceremony, the ten awardees shared their stories in developing careers. Mr. Cheung encouraged the ten awardees to strive for their dreams with persistence.

Apart from recognizing the remarkable performance of the ten awardees, Mr. Matthew Cheung commended the training bodies and the employers for their continuous support to YETP. He reiterated that YETP welcomed youths with different backgrounds. Moreover, he encouraged youths to overcome difficulties to strive for their dreams.
