Revisiting the memorable moments

Co-organised by the Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) of the Labour Department and Radio 2 of Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), the Award Ceremony of YETP Most Improved Trainees 2019 cum Concert entitled "Dream Journey with YETP" has been successfully held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium on August 30, 2019.  Guests, representatives of employers and service providers and friends and families of awardees all gathered to celebrate this remarkable day with the Most Improved Trainees and trainees with Merit Awards.

The theme of the Award Ceremony cum Concert this year was “Keep Movin’” which signified the untiring efforts of young people in pursuing their dreams.  The Most Improved Trainees this year showed their talents in different industries.  Among the awardees this year are a secondary school graduate who has entered the banking industry through Youth Recruitment Day@YETP, a youth who joined a green business start-up for a taste of entrepreneurship, and a trainee who has made full use of his knowledge in mechanics to set foot in the railway industry.  There are also trainees who have transformed their interests into competitive edges and built up their career paths in the music, aircraft maintenance, automobile repair and information technology industries.

Mr. Charles Hui, Assistant Commissioner for Labour (Employment Services) presented the trophies to the trainees with Merit Awards.

Dr. Law said in the opening remarks that new pre-employment training courses would be introduced into the Youth Employment and Training Programme in the Programme Year 2019/2020 so as to attract more young people to join the Programme to learn new job-specific skills.  He encouraged young people to equip themselves in order to pave way for a bright future in career.
