-Power of our 10 Most Improved Trainees (MIT)-
Co-organised by the Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) of the Labour Department and Radio 2 of Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), the Award Ceremony of Most Improved Trainees of YETP cum Concert named "Solar Project 2016 – Dream Journey with YETP" has been successfully held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium on August 21, 2016.
Excel in their respective workplaces, the 10 MITs are highly recognized by the employers, training bodies and adjudicators. Together with other guests, their family and friends all gathered in the ceremony to give the 10 MITs their warm support and encouragement for their efforts in pursuing their favorite career paths.
The "Father of YETP", Mr. Matthew Cheung, Secretary for Labour and Welfare chit-chatted with the 10 awardees and listened to their career plans. Just like many other youngsters, the 10 MITs experienced a lost in direction after leaving school. Luckily, through YETP, they learnt how to acquire and master job skills, build up their confidence and find own career goals. Mr. Cheung also encouraged them to keep striving for their dreams!
Mr. Donald Tong (upper photo), Commissioner for Labour, Mr. Byron Ng (bottom left photo), Deputy Commissioner for Labour (Labour Administration) and Mr. Charles Hui (bottom right photo), Assistant Commissioner for Labour (Employment Services), appreciated the outstanding performance of the 10 MITs. With these successful cases, they hoped that more youths would be inspired to stay strong in face of challenges and move forward on the career path.
Echoing the theme of event this year - "Power Your Life", Mr. Matthew Cheung encouraged young people to better equip themselves and unleash their full potential. He also believed that each and every young person had a unique power and could have outstanding achievements in their own ways.

Guests and audience turned on the specially designed LED flashing wristband to kick-off the concert, symbolising the passion of young people in pursuit of their dreams.
