To develop
young people's job skills, working experience and
credentials, thereby enhancing their employability and
competitiveness, the Labour Department has introduced
the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme (YPTP) and
the Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme (YWETS).
In the Programme Year 2008/09, the two Programmes will
join hands in receiving applications.
Eligibility: Young school leavers
aged between 15 and 24
(No educational requirements
required by the YPTP)
(The educational attainment of applicants
for the YWETS should be below degree level)

Pre-employment Training Programme(YPTP)
The Programme aims to enhance the employability and competitiveness
of young school leavers aged between 15 and 19 by providing a comprehensive
range of employment-related training.
The Programme includes:
1) Modular Training
- Module A: Leadership, Discipline and Team Building Training
- Module B: Job Search and Interpersonal Skills Training (compulsory)
- Module C: Computer Application Training
- Module D: Job-specific Skills Training
2) Workplace Attachment Training
3) Career Counselling and Support Services
